The events all around were wonderful and full of energy. From Cosplay Chess to where you act out killing or dying as a character while people play you to a form of Battle Cosplay where you team up and take out your opponents till you reach the top.

Cosplayers and the traditional cosplay contest were scene and heard throughout the hotel that weekend. Sporting outfits as simple as L from Death Note to complicated as Optimus Prime. The cosplay contest had lovely skits with dancing, singing, pop culture references, and classic fight scenes.

As hosts we paraded around all weekend helping out in the Cosplay Cafe with another group of cosplayers known as XDCDX who reside with Banzai as their home con. Following the cosplay contest was a special treat given by XDCDX, they would perform a production of their own of Naruto! Though with some minor sound difficulties it went very well and was very entertaining. Following that we got to put our show on.ouran__hikaru_and_kaoru_by_flintera.jpg

A favorite and familiar event in conventions is the cosplay contest! Wide assortment of costumes participated this year, a great turnout! It’s great to see people hard at work doing something they love and showing off a piece of what they enjoy to the convention.

Saturday we performed our production of Kingdom Hearts: Master of the Keyblade, the third part to our three year play written by Brandon Waite. We find that Sora has lost his memory and skills in fighting so with the help of Doctor Who they must brave worlds to get him back to normal to save the world once again. He meets many faces such as Drizzt from Forgotten Realms and Trinity from the Matrix series. Will Sora regain himself and defeat the evil?

“Kingdom Hearts: Master of the Keyblade” Open Auditions

The final task. The final chapter.

Fandemonium is destroyed, the Warriors of the Keyblade are defeated, Sora is broken and time is running out.

A goddess returns, a hero is born. For one year Anti-Sora has ruled Reality and all of Fandom in Darkness. For one year, the Fans have been forced into hiding. But a small thread of hope remains; amidst a forest of Darkness a path is found. And some things, once done, must be redone.

Four creatures of Darkness, three goddesses, two companions and one Master of the Keyblade.

On the first weekend of August, Fandemonium 2008, the final chapter of the keyblade trilogy unfolds and the fate of Sora and all of Fandom will be decided.

Will you be there?

Ichidan Had A Blast At Anime Banzai ‘07!

We all had a great time in the city of Salt Lake. Other than having to pay for parking everywhere, it was nice. The Sheraton cleaned up well and had a lovely place for us to stay in; great place to hold a convention. The hot tub and swimming pool were great pleasures to relax in. The staff was friendly and helpful, as was the security watching out making sure things went alright.

Ichidan ran ’Whose Line Is It Anime?’, Beginners and Advanced Cosplay panels and a Grand Cosplay of Bleach at 10pm the last day. It was the first time we have performed that late at night. The con-goers seemed to enjoy the panels and the Bleach cosplay as well as having a great time with ‘Whose Line Is It Anime?’.

Artbeat was a nice band, other then needing a long time to set up. They performed very well and sounded great. People loved them and were happy to see them play once again the following day. Let’s hope they come again next year.

Enjoying the Con

The cosplay contest had some great entries this year. Optimus Prime was among my favorites as well as the Chobits song and dance.  The AMV contest was pretty interesting (happy to see no Linkin Park songs this time). Video rooms were up and going and playing some good stuff such as Outlaw Star and Lupin the 3rd (which we stopped to watch for a bit).

Orion and myself personally thank you all for playing along and being entertained by our camera and microphones as we asked you questions and taped through the convention center. You were all good sports about it. Video will be up soon.

The guests were great, from who we met. Steven Nunez (Warky), you’re a great guy with experience in playing music, keep it up, they sound great, and you were quite enjoyable to chat with.

Steven We Hardly Knew Ye

Wrapping this short convention report up: We came, we saw, we had a blast. Thank you all for having us and we thank you for being there to spend time with. Hope to see you all again next year and many years to come.

Fandemonium 2007

Fandemonium was a blast!
Many, many thanks to Borneo for giving us such a generous amount of time to rehearse. Thanks to him and our wonderful cast and crew, our performance was a smashing success!

Pictures and videos to come!
